Think about this – in the dark ages, if you went to a tavern, you ate whatever they were cooking. What’s more, you were likely grateful that there was anything to eat at all, and that there wasn’t a famine or a plague happening. But a king could eat pretty much whatever he wanted, to have a choice of dishes. Today, several centuries later, we all can eat like kings! A typical restaurant today has offers more food diversity and rare spices from faraway lands than a royal court would have enjoyed a few hundred years ago. However, even after hundreds of years of progress, people still fuck like peasants.
